We specialize in traditional gas and electric tank water heaters — the most cost-effective choice for the vast majority of Florida homes. Tankless installations are available by request but typically run several thousand dollars more once you factor in the electrical or gas line upgrades most homes need to support them. Solar and commercial water heaters are not part of our service.

Is It Time to Replace?

5 Signs You Need a New Water Heater

The average water heater lasts 8–12 years. If you're seeing any of these signs, it's time to call — before you wake up to a flooded garage.

  • 1

    Rusty or discolored hot water

Rust inside the tank means corrosion — and a leak is coming soon.

  • 2

Running out of hot water quickly

Sediment buildup reduces capacity. Your tank is working harder for less.

  • 3

    Strange noises (popping, rumbling)

That's hardened sediment slamming around inside. Failure isn't far off.

  • 4

Puddles or moisture around the base

Tank leaks rarely fix themselves — they get worse fast.

  • 5

Your unit is 10+ years old

Older units are inefficient and at high risk of catastrophic failure.

    Common Questions

    Water Heater Install FAQ

How fast can you install a new water heater?
We often complete installs the same day you call — especially if you reach us first thing in the morning. Once we arrive, a standard tank water heater swap typically takes 2–3 hours from start to finish, and you don't lift a finger. Same-day availability depends on our schedule and the specifics of your install, so call early for the best chance of getting hot water back today.
What's included in the $1,250 price?
The $1,250 price covers a brand-new 40-gallon standard electric water heater, basic installation by one of our licensed plumbers, and haul-away of your old unit. If your installation needs extra work (code upgrades, expansion tanks, gas line modifications, etc.), we'll quote it transparently before any work begins. You'll never be surprised by the final bill.
Do you install gas water heaters too?
Yes — we install both gas (natural gas and propane) and electric tank water heaters in standard residential sizes. Gas installations come with a free estimate. Call 727-609-2200 to get a quote in minutes.
    What about tankless water heaters?
We focus on traditional gas and electric tank water heaters because they're the most cost-effective solution for the vast majority of homes. Tankless units sound appealing on paper, but most homes require significant electrical or gas line upgrades to support one — which often adds several thousand dollars to the total project cost. If you're set on going tankless after weighing the full cost, we can discuss it during your free estimate. For most homeowners, a properly sized tank water heater delivers all the hot water they need at a fraction of the price.
How do I know what size water heater I need?
For most Florida homes, a 40-gallon tank serves 1–3 people comfortably and a 50-gallon tank works well for 4–5 people. Here's something many homeowners don't realize: upgrading from a 40-gallon to a 50-gallon tank is usually only a small additional cost — and it makes a noticeable difference if you have a growing family or back-to-back showers in the morning. We're happy to give you a no-obligation recommendation when you call. Just tell us how many people live in the home and how many bathrooms you have.
    Is your work guaranteed?
Absolutely. Your new water heater is covered by the manufacturer's warranty (typically 6 years on parts), and our installation work is backed by our workmanship guarantee. If anything is wrong with the install, we come back and fix it — no charge.
    Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Legendary Plumber Co. is a fully licensed and insured Florida plumbing contractor (license #CFC1432427). We never use subcontractors — every job is handled by our own licensed plumbers in uniformed Legendary trucks.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
Give us a call at 727-609-2200 to discuss payment options. We accept all major credit cards, cash, and check — and we'll do our best to make your new water heater work with your budget.
